Iconito vs Goat Trust Badges: which trust badge app fits your Shopify store?
Short answer
Goat Trust Badges is the better pick for new or high-traffic stores that only need one row of payment icons: its free plan has unlimited page views (1 banner of 3 badges) and PRO costs $2.89/month, with a 5.0 rating from about 44 reviews. Iconito suits stores that want badges beyond the cart: from $4.99/month it adds checkout, Thank You and Order Status placement, custom links and uploads, and VIP ($9.99) adds product-tag triggers. It is Built for Shopify, rated 4.7 from about 181 reviews, but its free plan stops at 5,000 page views.

The full comparison
Trust badges are one of the cheapest things you can add to a Shopify store, which is exactly why the App Store is crowded with near-identical badge apps. Most buying guides only cover the three or four market leaders with hundreds or thousands of reviews. This page looks at two smaller apps that rarely get written about: Iconito - Trust badges & icons and Goat - Trust Badges and Icons. Both put payment icons and guarantee badges on your product pages, cart and footer, both have a free plan, and both are rated above 4.5 stars. The differences sit in the details: page view caps, where badges can appear after the cart, and how much you pay to remove the limits.
Everything below was checked on the two App Store listings and on the developers' own pages on October 23, 2026. Where a listing does not say something, we say so instead of guessing.
Who makes these apps
Iconito by Ikonis Labs
Iconito launched on the Shopify App Store on November 29, 2021. It is published by Ikonis Labs, a developer listed in Montesson, France, whose other Shopify apps include Pixoo Multi-Currency Discounts, TicTac (timer, bar and upsell) and Seekr (AI search and filter). The developer's website, royal-apps.io, presents Iconito next to a few other apps and promises 24/7 live chat and theme compatibility without code.
At the time of writing Iconito has a 4.7 rating from about 181 reviews: 94% five-star, 2% four-star and 4% one-star (seven reviews). It carries the Built for Shopify badge, which Shopify reserves for apps that meet its standards for performance, design and integration. Its pitch is breadth of placement: product pages, cart and footer, and also checkout, Thank You and Order Status pages.
Goat by Gifted
Goat launched on June 1, 2023. It is published by Gifted, a developer based in Ivanhoe East, Victoria, Australia. Gifted's best known app is BEE Logo slider (5.0 from about 260 reviews, Built for Shopify), and it also runs Gifted: Gift Messages. The withgifted.com homepage is about the gift message app, not Goat, so the Goat App Store listing is the main source of truth for this comparison.
Goat holds a 5.0 rating from about 44 reviews, with 43 five-star reviews and one four-star review. It does not show the Built for Shopify badge. Its pitch is volume and simplicity: more than 30,000 badges, one-click coloring, and a free plan with no page view cap.
Pricing: two different ways to limit a free plan
This is where the two apps differ most, and it settles the choice for many stores.
| Iconito | Goat |
|---|---|---|
Free plan | First 5,000 page views, max 3 icons per block | Unlimited page views, 1 banner, 3 badges per banner |
Entry paid plan | MVP, $4.99/month | PRO, $2.89/month |
Top plan | VIP, $9.99/month | PRO is the only paid plan |
Page views on paid plans | 50,000/month on MVP, unlimited on VIP | Unlimited |
Free trial | 3 days on paid plans | Not listed |
Iconito's free plan is capped by traffic. The listing says "first 5,000 page views" without clarifying whether that allowance resets every month, so a store with steady traffic should expect to move to a paid plan quickly. Goat caps by layout instead: you get one banner of three badges, but it shows on every page view with no limit.
For a store that only needs one row of payment icons under the add to cart button, Goat's free plan is hard to beat. For a store that wants several badge blocks, the cheapest unlimited setup is Goat PRO at $2.89 per month, against $4.99 for Iconito MVP, which still caps traffic at 50,000 page views a month. Unlimited views on Iconito cost $9.99 per month on VIP.
Both apps bill in US dollars every 30 days through Shopify.
Icon library and design
Library size
Goat advertises more than 30,000 trust badges, icons, logos and symbols. Iconito advertises 6,000+ modern icons on its listing, while the developer website says 5,000+ and the MVP plan lists "5000+ 2D and 3D icons", so treat the exact number loosely. Both libraries cover the usual families: card networks, wallets, shipping, returns, guarantees, security and social icons. Goat's larger number matters mostly if you want many stylistic variants of the same badge.
Custom uploads
Iconito lists "Upload your own icons" on the MVP and VIP plans, so a custom guarantee seal or a local payment method logo means paying at least $4.99. Goat tags file upload among its features on the listing but does not attach it to a specific plan, so confirm with its support before you rely on it.
Styling
Both apps let you customize colors, fonts, size and layout. Goat adds two touches on PRO: an automatic color layer that recolors every icon in one click, and automatic scroll, which turns a long badge row into a moving strip. Goat also says plainly that badges can be customized separately on desktop and on mobile. Iconito's listing tags device-specific settings, animations, tooltips and scheduling, but its plan bullets do not describe them. If mobile-specific sizing is your main concern, Goat states it more clearly.
Iconito lets you add a custom link to icons on MVP, which is useful if a "30-day returns" badge should open your returns page. Goat does not list clickable links.
Placement: where Iconito pulls ahead
Both apps place badges automatically or manually on product pages, cart and footer, and both list homepage, hero, collection and custom pages among their positions.
The gap opens after the cart. Iconito explicitly lists checkout, Thank You and Order Status pages on its MVP plan. Reassurance on the Thank You page ("Ships within 48h", "Free returns") is a cheap way to cut "where is my order" emails and post-purchase doubt. Goat's description covers cart, footer, hero and product page; checkout appears only among the listing's position tags, with no plan detail, so we mark it as unconfirmed. Keep in mind that on Shopify, blocks inside the checkout steps themselves are generally limited to Shopify Plus stores, while Thank You and Order Status pages are open to every plan. Iconito's listing does not spell out that nuance, so ask its support which checkout surfaces your plan can use.
Iconito's VIP plan also adds triggers by product tags: show a "Vegan" or "Handmade" badge only on products tagged that way. Goat has no equivalent on its listing. For a catalog with mixed product types, that alone can justify the $9.99 plan.
Iconito also lists compatibility with GemPage and PageFly, two popular page builders. Goat does not list page builder integrations, which does not mean it fails with them, only that it is not documented.
Reviews and support
Goat's 5.0 rating looks better on paper, but it rests on about 44 reviews against roughly 181 for Iconito. Iconito's seven one-star reviews (4%) are worth reading: the most recent negative one, from August 2025, says icons did not appear after setup and complains about the volume of emails. Other recent Iconito reviews praise easy setup and live chat, including a June 2025 review where support fixed an alignment issue with custom CSS.
Goat's recent reviews, from spring 2025, repeatedly mention fast and friendly chat support, and one says the app is cheaper than others. One reviewer found the interface could look more polished.
On support channels, Iconito lists 24/7 live chat on every plan, free included. Goat's plans do not name a support channel, but its reviews describe chat support.
Three store profiles
A new store testing products with paid ads
You run a one-product store, send paid traffic, and want payment icons under the buy button today, for free. Ad traffic burns through page views fast, so Iconito's 5,000 page view free plan is a poor fit. Goat's free plan, with one banner of three badges and unlimited views, covers this exactly. If you later want a second banner, for instance guarantee icons in the footer, PRO is $2.89 a month.
An established apparel brand with 30,000 monthly sessions
You already show payment icons, and the gap is after purchase: customers email to ask when their order ships. Iconito MVP at $4.99 a month adds badges on the Thank You and Order Status pages, clickable icons that open your shipping policy, and uploaded icons for your own guarantee seal. Check your page views first: 30,000 sessions can easily mean more than 50,000 page views, in which case VIP at $9.99 is the safer plan.
A wellness store with mixed product types
Supplements need "Third-party tested" and "Vegan" badges, accessories do not. With Iconito VIP, you tag products and let the badges follow the tags, instead of maintaining separate product templates. With Goat you would approximate this through manual placement on each template.
Switching from one to the other
Neither app imports the other's settings, so migration is a rebuild. A badge setup is usually a handful of blocks, so it rarely takes more than an hour.
- Screenshot your current badges on desktop and mobile, on every page where they appear.
- Install the new app and recreate each block or banner. Pick the same icons, then match colors and size.
- If you move from Iconito to Goat, list what you lose first: Thank You and Order Status badges, tag triggers and clickable links have no direct equivalent on Goat's listing.
- If you move from Goat to Iconito, check your monthly page views against the 50,000 cap on MVP.
- Remove the old app's block from the theme editor before uninstalling, then check that no empty space or leftover code remains. Our guide on app bloat and site speed explains why leftovers matter.
- If you want a side-by-side check, set up the new app on a duplicate theme and preview it before publishing.
Is a badge app worth paying for at all?
For many small stores, the free plan of either app is enough: one row of payment icons near the add to cart button is the main job. Paying makes sense when badges carry information customers act on, like a returns window, shipping times or a product certification. What we could not verify
- Whether Iconito's 5,000 page view free allowance resets each month.
- Whether Goat's custom file upload and checkout placement are available on the free plan, on PRO, or at all in the current version: both appear only as listing tags.
- Goat's demo page and Iconito's product page on the developer site could not be loaded during our check, so most facts come from the App Store listings.
Prices and limits can change whenever a developer updates its listing, so check the listing before you install.
Frequently asked questions
It depends on traffic and placement. If you only need one row of payment icons and get steady traffic, Goat is better value: its free plan has unlimited page views, while Iconito's free plan covers the first 5,000 page views. If you want badges on the Thank You or Order Status page, clickable icons or badges by product tag, Iconito is the stronger app, from $4.99/month.
Yes. Goat's free plan includes unlimited page views, one banner with up to three badges, automatic and manual placement and custom styling. The PRO plan at $2.89/month unlocks unlimited banners and badges, automatic scroll and an automatic color layer.
Yes. Iconito's Starter Free plan covers the first 5,000 page views with up to 3 icons per block, the full icon library and 24/7 live chat. Paid plans are MVP at $4.99/month (50,000 page views) and VIP at $9.99/month (unlimited), both with a 3-day free trial.
Its listing says yes: checkout, Thank You and Order Status pages are included from the MVP plan at $4.99/month. On Shopify, blocks inside the checkout steps themselves are generally limited to Shopify Plus stores, while Thank You and Order Status pages work on all plans, so ask Iconito's support what your plan can show.
Iconito has been on the Shopify App Store since November 2021, is published by Ikonis Labs (France), carries the Built for Shopify badge and holds a 4.7 rating from about 181 reviews, 94% of them five stars. About 4% are one-star reviews, mostly about icons not displaying after setup.
Goat is a public Shopify App Store app launched in June 2023 by Gifted, an Australian developer that also publishes BEE Logo slider. It has a 5.0 rating from about 44 reviews. It does not carry the Built for Shopify badge, and its review base is smaller than Iconito's.
Iconito lists custom icon uploads on its MVP ($4.99) and VIP ($9.99) plans. Goat shows file upload among its listing tags but does not say which plan includes it, so check with its support before relying on it.
